Mostly men went south but a few women did during the early years of the frontier migration. their were mostly men lived on ranched in the mining towns and at the army forts but their were but only a few women but mostly men in those parts. the trip was very difficult for everyone considering the Indians, storms, disease, starvation, and lack of water. but eventually families began to settle along the plains. The women had a great impact on making sure all of the settlements were successfully made without any flaws and especially making sure they stay permanent.
