Migration has a major impact on everyone. One of the most common reason for migration are because of poor living conditions in their past place. Another reason people migrate is to have a better life and get a better job and make you and your family live better. The final reason people migrate is because they know something valuable can be obtained for example the 1849 California gold rush. One main impact migration can have of people is the harsh conditions along the way such as lack of food, water, or very hot and dry. Also even if u do successfully migrate their is no guarantee life will be better and it will be very hard to start a completely new life and, get a new job but on the other hand migration can be good in some cases you can build yourself and your family a better life and get a better job. Finally wither the impact be good or bad every migration has an impact.
Historical question:
1. What was the average number of children compared to adults migrating.
2. Which group of migrators turned out to be the most successful overall.
3. What was the most successful way of transport and most successful path taken to migrate.
4. what was the ratio of people living after taking the trip compared to deaths.
5. How many people really did find gold in California compared to the people who didn't.
Thinking like a historian:
1. cause and effect is a major factor in the migration to the west because the cause of all of the people migrating to the south ends up as the effect of many people dying and even people who did make it to the west were not all ways granted a better life.
2. The second thinking like a historian is different perspectives the people who did get a better life would have the perspective as this trip wasn't a waste of time and it was good to take this trip, but the people who had many family members die and even though they made it they still didn't have a good like might look at this and say this was a bed idea and wasn't worth it.
